The biggest exhibition for hometextiles in Japan, Japantex, is organized by Nippon Interior Fabrics Association at Tokyo Big Sight. This year was the third in a row when Patternsfrom Agency was participating Japantex representing eight Finnish textile designers this time.

During the intensive three days at the huge exhibition hall both new and familiar faces showed up. Thank you for stopping by! The three pattern concepts of Patternsfrom Agency – Classy, Lovely and Whimsical – were introduced to Japan with very good feedback as it was easier for the potential customers to find what they were looking for. Especially ladies in their thirties and fourties seem to be very attracted by Finnish and Scandinavian design, along with companies who are supplying this target group.

Besides of the regular exclusicive, we also introduced the non-exclusive option of obtaining the rights to use a pattern. That seemed to be a suitable approach for several of our customers. Currently, we are expecting the production to begin and a new collection of curtains to be launched in Japan, as Bickly Curtain from Osaka will be using some patterns from Finland in their production! We are eager to see the outcome and share it with you early next year. We are also very happy to collaborate with such a forerunner of curtain business, as Bickly Curtain has understood the importance of digitalization of curtain business very well as it helps customers to have personalized interiors.

Patternsfrom Agency with its professional surface and textile designers keeps focusing in providing pattern data for customers taking care of the manufacturing locally, and we conside Japan as one of the main market. It is nice to notice that the efforts are paying off little by little as the customer base is growing steadily as the company gets better known in the market.
